Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026 · Version 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains how Coin Fortress LLC ("Coin Fortress," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of the Satoshi Boards application and website at satoshiboards.com (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares information. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

The short version. Satoshi Boards is non-custodial. Your private keys and seed phrase are generated and stored on your own device and are never sent to us. We don't collect your name, email, or password to sign up. We don't run ads, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking. However, activity you perform on a public blockchain — including your wallet address and transactions — is public and permanent, and content you post is visible to others.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account information

When you create an account we collect a username, your public Bitcoin SV (BSV) wallet address, and — if you enable direct messages — your public key. If you use a hierarchical-deterministic wallet, we may store your extended public key (xpub) to derive payout addresses. We do not require or collect your legal name, email address, phone number, or a password to register.

1.2 Content you create

We collect and store the content you submit — posts, comments, and votes — along with timestamps and the username associated with them. Posts, comments, and vote counts are public and visible to other users.

1.3 Direct messages

Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted on your device before they reach us. We store only the encrypted ciphertext and cannot read the contents of your messages.

1.4 Transaction and activity data

To operate the pay-per-action model we record activity such as the actions you take, the fees you pay, amounts you receive, and related records used for accounting and reconciliation. Your payments occur on the public BSV blockchain (see Section 3).

1.5 Technical and usage data

Like most online services, we automatically receive certain technical information when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser or device type, and server log data (such as requests, timestamps, and error information) used for security, debugging, and operating the Service.

1.6 What we do not collect

We never receive or store your private keys or seed phrase — they are generated and kept on your device (encrypted in your browser's storage) and are used to sign transactions locally. We also do not currently collect your name, email, or password, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our cookies are:

  • sb_token, sb_refresh — keep you signed in (session and refresh tokens).
  • sb_eula — remembers that you accepted the Terms of Use.
  • sb_fr_*, sb_pv_* — payment receipts that let you re-load a feed or re-read a post you already paid for without paying again for a short time.

Your browser may also store your encrypted wallet key locally; that data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

3. Public blockchain

Payments and revenue-sharing happen on the public Bitcoin SV blockchain. Wallet addresses, transaction amounts, and transaction history recorded on the blockchain are public, permanent, and outside our control. We cannot change, hide, or delete anything recorded on the blockchain, and third parties may be able to associate your wallet address with your activity.

4. How we use information

  • to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • to process your microtransactions and revenue-sharing;
  • to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • to communicate with you about the Service where necessary; and
  • to comply with legal obligations.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers. We use third-party cloud infrastructure, hosting, logging, and database providers that operate the Service on our behalf and process data under our instructions.
  • Blockchain data provider. To display balances and broadcast transactions, the Service contacts a third-party blockchain data provider, which may receive your wallet address and IP address.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or Coin Fortress.
  • Business transfers. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

6. Data retention

We retain account, content, and activity data for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Content and transactions recorded on the public blockchain are permanent and cannot be deleted.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), end-to-end encryption of direct messages, and a non-custodial design in which your keys stay on your device. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and you are responsible for safeguarding your device, credentials, and wallet keys.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the address below; we may need to verify your request. Please note that we cannot alter or delete information recorded on the public blockchain, and some content may be retained where required or where it is not tied to your identity.

California residents: we do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Users in the EEA/UK: where applicable, our lawful bases for processing are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with law.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate from, and process and store information in, the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Policy here and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
